Conveying Ideas Through Visual Design Elements
Graphic Design is a broad term. As a Graphic Designer, my goal is to create stunning visual communication through a combination of Typography, Imagery, Colour, & Form.
Marketing, User Interface, Package Design, Motion Graphics & Animation, Environmental Graphic Design, Visual Identity, Publication, & More.
Logo design, typography, colours, packaging, & messaging. These are the design elements that make up a brands identity.
Quality brand design builds recognition, credibility, and connection to your services/products.
Graphic design is used for marketing in a vast amount of ways.
Business cards, letterheads, flyers, posters, newsletters, brochures, direct mail, billboards, banners, signs, cards, and social media graphics are probably the most obvious pieces of design collateral.
The products, businesses, and services all around you have been purposefully designed in order to market themselves to their specific target audiences.
While graphic design includes facets of illustration and typography formed together to convey a message, Illustration in itself can be used in a purely visual way to tell a story, or for decoration.
When using the term illustration here, I am speaking of a more detailed graphic image. Something more along the lines of a piece of fine art.
A quality website design builds an online presence that puts you in the hands of new customers, literally.
Websites are the single most effective marketing asset that a business can invest in. A user friendly website design will attract new clients and generate more sales.
